The city has received calls from water customers concerning a mailed solicitation from a company identifying itself as Home Services USA Corporation. The company is offering insurance coverage for repairs to the water line that extends from the street to the customer’s house. The mailing shows the name of the City of Rocky Mount at the top of the advertisement. Customers are asking the city if this coverage is encouraged, recommended, required, or endorsed by the city.

“We have received many calls from our water customers about this mailed advertisement,” said Wayne Hollowell, director of water resources for the City of Rocky Mount. “The City of Rocky Mount is in no way associated with this solicitation. This coverage is not endorsed or required by the City. I encourage customers to exercise care in deciding whether to subscribe to this coverage.”
